A little preparation goes a long way toward the best results and smoothest recovery.

Before Your Appointment

  • ✓ Come with a clean, makeup-free face on the day of your appointment
  • ✓ Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your treatment
  • ✓ Avoid blood-thinning supplements (fish oil, vitamin E, aspirin, NSAIDs) for 1 week prior, if medically safe for you to do so
  • ✓ Consult your doctor before stopping any prescribed blood-thinning medication — never stop without medical guidance
  • ✓ Let us know about any skin infections, cold sores, or active breakouts near the treatment area

After Your Treatment

  • ✓ No strenuous exercise for 24 hours post-treatment — keep your heart rate down
  • ✓ Avoid excessive heat — saunas, hot tubs, and steam rooms for 24 hours
  • ✓ Do not lie flat or bend forward for at least 4 hours after your appointment
  • ✓ Do not rub, massage, or apply pressure to the treated areas for 24 hours

You'll typically begin to notice softening of lines within 2–3 days of your treatment. Full results develop over 7–14 days as the neurotoxin fully takes effect. If you have a special event coming up, we recommend scheduling at least 2 weeks in advance to see your optimal results in time.
Results from Jeuveau® typically last approximately 3–4 months, though this varies from person to person. Factors like metabolism, activity level, and the treatment area can influence how quickly results fade. Many patients schedule maintenance appointments every 3–4 months to keep their results fresh. Over time, some patients find they need slightly fewer units as treated muscles become conditioned.
Most patients are surprised by how easy it is! Jeuveau® injections feel like a brief, tiny pinch — many describe it as less uncomfortable than a flu shot. The needles used are extremely fine, and the procedure takes only 10–15 minutes. We offer topical numbing cream if desired, though most patients don't find it necessary.
None! You can return to your normal activities immediately after treatment. You may notice minor redness or small bumps at the injection sites — these typically resolve within a few hours. The main post-care guidelines are: avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, skip the sauna or hot tub for a day, don't lie flat for at least 4 hours after your appointment, and avoid rubbing the treated areas.
