IV Iron Infusion — Bedford, TX

Finally Feel Like
Yourself Again.

Iron deficiency is one of the most massively underdiagnosed conditions in the U.S. — affecting millions who've been told their labs are "normal." IV iron bypasses your gut entirely, replenishing your stores faster than any oral supplement ever could.

Recognize These?

Sound Familiar?

Iron deficiency doesn't always look like what you'd expect. Many patients have been dismissed for years — the fatigue, the fog, the hair loss written off as stress or aging. Sound like you?

Woman on couch looking exhausted — a sign of chronic fatigue from iron deficiency

Constant Fatigue & Low Energy

Iron is essential for making hemoglobin, which carries oxygen to every cell. Low iron = your body is literally running low on fuel — even after a full night's sleep.

Woman holding her head, dizzy and lightheaded from iron deficiency anemia

Dizziness, Brain Fog & Shortness of Breath

When oxygen delivery is compromised, your brain and muscles feel it first — leaving you lightheaded, unable to concentrate, and winded by everyday activities.

Hairbrush showing significant hair shedding and thinning from iron deficiency

Hair Shedding & Thinning

Your body prioritizes vital organs when iron is low, leaving hair follicles under-nourished. Excess shedding and thinning are among the most common — and most distressing — signs of deficiency.

Other common signs of iron deficiency

Restless legs at night Cold hands & feet Pale or sallow skin Pica (cravings for ice or dirt) Postpartum recovery Heavy or prolonged periods Brittle or spoon-shaped nails Frequent headaches
Why IV?

Oral Iron Is Slow.
IV Iron Works Differently.

You've probably tried the supplements. Here's why so many patients switch to IV therapy.

💊

The Problem with Oral Iron

Oral iron supplements have to survive your entire digestive tract before even a fraction is absorbed — and for many people, that's a big ask. Absorption rates are often as low as 10–20%, and the side effects (constipation, nausea, dark stools, stomach cramps) cause most people to stop taking it. For those with Crohn's, celiac disease, gastric bypass, or other GI conditions, oral iron barely works at all.

💉

How IV Iron Changes the Game

IV iron (iron sucrose) bypasses your digestive system entirely, delivering iron directly into your bloodstream where it's immediately available to your bone marrow. You can absorb a full therapeutic dose in a single session — something that would take weeks or months of oral supplementation to achieve. Most patients feel a noticeable difference in energy and clarity within days to weeks of their infusion.

💡 Good news: not everyone needs IV iron. Mild cases with no GI intolerance may do well with oral iron first. Your provider will review your labs and advise the best approach for your specific situation.
Is This Right for You?

Good Candidates & Contraindications

A provider review is required before your infusion — here's a general guide to help you understand if IV iron is a fit.

✓ You May Be a Great Candidate If...

  • Moderate to severe iron deficiency — labs show low ferritin, iron, or hemoglobin
  • GI intolerance to oral iron — nausea, constipation, or stomach pain with supplements
  • Malabsorption conditions — Crohn's disease, celiac disease, or history of gastric bypass
  • Need for rapid correction — upcoming surgery or a specific health deadline
  • Postpartum iron loss — recovering from pregnancy or significant blood loss
  • Chronic or recurrent deficiency — heavy periods, chronic bleeding, or ongoing depletion

✗ IV Iron May Not Be Right If You Have...

  • Iron overload (hemochromatosis) — your body already stores too much iron
  • Prior serious reaction to IV iron — any history of anaphylaxis or severe adverse reaction
  • Active infection or sepsis — iron feeds bacteria; IV iron is deferred until you're clear
  • Recent major bleeding event — the underlying source must be identified and addressed first

Your provider will confirm candidacy at your visit based on your labs and medical history.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — iron sucrose (the form we use) has an excellent safety record. Serious allergic reactions occur in approximately 1 in 200,000 infusions. That's why we monitor you for the full 30 minutes after your infusion is complete. Your safety is our top priority, and Brittany is trained to handle any adverse reactions should they occur.
Plan for about 1.5 to 2 hours total. The infusion itself runs 30–60 minutes, followed by a required 30-minute observation period. We recommend bringing headphones, a show to watch, or a good book — most patients find it to be a surprisingly relaxing experience!
Yes — labs are required before we can administer IV iron. We need to confirm your diagnosis and determine the appropriate dose. The required values are CBC, Ferritin, Iron, and TIBC. If you have recent results (within 90 days), bring them to your appointment. If you don't have labs, we can order them for you: our full Anemia Panel (CBC + Ferritin + Iron + TIBC) is $30, or the Iron Panel only (Iron + TIBC) is $14.
That depends entirely on how depleted your iron stores are. Some patients feel dramatically better after a single 200mg infusion. Others with more severe deficiency may need a series of infusions spaced a few weeks apart. Brittany will review your specific labs and advise a personalized plan at your visit.
Absolutely! We can run complementary IV add-ons during your post-infusion observation window. Many patients use that 30 minutes to enjoy a Glutathione push, B12 boost, or Vitamin C — turning your iron infusion into a full wellness session. Just let us know when you book or at check-in.
